Grow Awareness and Increase Donations
Location : Head Shaving Event and Silent Auction — Chicago, Illinois
Date :March 22, 2015
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long, healthy lives. The 4th Annual Team Sean Kelly Head Shaving Event was established to honor Sean Kelly, after he tragically passed away. As someone who dedicated much of his time and energy on causes that touched his heart, this event provided an opportunity for family to come together and continue his legacy. The planning committee was interested in ways to grow the event and increase donations.
Virtual Photo Booth was used at the event for Photo Fundraising. This unique social marketing platform enabled users to capture memories and share branded photos via social media, in turn allowing users the power to become the brand advocates. By adding a hashtag to the message that linked photos to the Team Sean Kelly St. Baldrick’s donations pages, friends and family that couldn’t attend the event, still had the opportunity to donate to the fundraiser.
Participants loved using the custom St. Baldrick’s Team Sean Kelly frames. Additionally, by providing an easy way for friends to donate to the cause,Virtual Photo Booth helped raise an additional $695 dollars to help fight childhood cancer. Amy Kelly, event chairman said, “Virtual Photo Booth is the perfect app to promote your event to those who couldn’t attend. By igniting friends on social media, we were able to raise an additional $600.00 for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. That’s awesome!”
